Absolutely Apricot Bread

Absolutely Apricot Bread

1 lb loaf 1 1/2 lb loaf

yeast 2 t. 3 t.

dry milk 1 T. 2 T.

bread flour 2 c. 3 c.

salt 1 t. 1 1/2 t.

butter 1 T. 2 T.

apricot jam 3 T. 1/4 c.

dried apricots,
   chopped 1/2 c. 3/4 c.

water 3/4 c. 1 1/4 c.


Use light crust setting.  Delayed timer mode okay.  From Electric Bread.
**I added 3 T. sugar to my 1 1/2 lb loaf when I was dumping in the
ingredients.  My kids like a sweeter bread for their breakfast.

Cheese-Wine Bread

1/2 cup dry white wine
3 eggs
3 cups flour
1 tsp salt
2 tsp sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 cup (8oz) shredded Monterey jack cheese or
Pepper jack cheese -- divided
1 pkg yeast

Place all but 1/2 the cheese into bread machine according to instructions. Add remaining cheese at the beep.

NOTES : Substitute beer for wine and cheddar for Monterey jack

Homemade Brown Bread

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

1 1/2 cups boiling water
1 cup old-fashioned oats
2 tablespoons shortening
2 teaspoons salt
1 (1/4oz) pkg active dry yeast
3/4 cup warm water -- (110-115 degrees)
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup molasses
4 3/4 to 5-1/4 cup all-purpose flour
melted butter or margarine

In a bowl, combine the first 4 ingred. Cool to 110-115 degrees. In a mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Sprinkle with sugar. Add oat mixture, brown sugar, molasses and 3 cups flour; mix well. Add enough remaining flour to form soft dough. Turn onto floured surface and knead 6-8 min. Place in a greased bowl; turn once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hr. Punch dough down. Divide in half; shape into loaves. Place in 2 greased 9x5x3" loaf pans. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30-45 min. Bake at 375 degrees for 30-35 min.or until golden brown. Remove from pans; cool on wire racks. Brush with butter.

1-1/8 tsp yeast
3/8 c warm water
1/4 tsp sugar
2 tbl brown sugar
2 tbl molasses
about 2-1/2 c flour

Kings Hawaiian Bread

cycle: white or sweet
setting: light
makes one large loaf.
