Makes: 2 1/2 dozen
- 1/2 cup butter
- 6 ounces semisweet chocolate
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 cup baking cocoa
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups pecans, coarsely ground
- 6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
- Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Add the chocolate and cook until melted, stirring to blend well.
- Beat the eggs and sugar in a mixing bowl at high speed for 2 minutes or until thickened and pale yellow. Reduce the mixer speed to medium and beat in the chocolate mixture.
- Add the flour, baking powder, baking cocoa, vanilla and salt; beat for 2 minutes. Stir in the pecans and chocolate chips.
- Drop by 1/2 teaspoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet and press to flatten slightly. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes or just until set.
- Cool on the cookie sheet for several minutes; remove to a wire rack to cool completely.
