Makes: 2 1/2 dozen

• 1/2 cup butter
• 6 ounces semisweet chocolate
• 2 eggs
• 1/4 cup sugar
• 1/3 cup flour
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/4 cup baking cocoa
• 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 2 cups pecans, coarsely ground
• 6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips

1. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Add the chocolate and cook until melted, stirring to blend well.
2. Beat the eggs and sugar in a mixing bowl at high speed for 2 minutes or until thickened and pale yellow. Reduce the mixer speed to medium and beat in the chocolate mixture.
3. Add the flour, baking powder, baking cocoa, vanilla and salt; beat for 2 minutes. Stir in the pecans and chocolate chips.
4. Drop by 1/2 teaspoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet and press to flatten slightly. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes or just until set.
5. Cool on the cookie sheet for several minutes; remove to a wire rack to cool completely.
