Temperature: 325 degrees F.
Time: 1 hour

• 12 slices white bread
• Butter
• 1 pound mild Cheddar cheese, sliced
• 2 cans (6 ounces each) crab meat
• 1 package (10 ounces) frozen shrimp, precooked
• 3 large eggs
• 2 cups milk
• Salt
• Pepper
• Nutmeg to taste

1. Remove crusts from bread and butter one side of each slice. Place six slices in a 9 x 12-inch casserole dish, buttered side down.
2. Top bread slices with one-half of the sliced cheese. Cover with crab meat and cooked shrimp. Top with remaining cheese and bread slices, buttered side up.
3. Combine eggs, milk, and spices. Pour this mixture over casserole and let stand 6 to 12 hours.
4. Bake at 325 degreesF for 1 hour.

Hint: Ham, chicken, or turkey may be substituted for seafood.
