Heart Healthy
Condensed Cream Soup Mix

  • 2 cups non-fat dry milk powder

  • 3/4 cup cornstarch

  • 1/4 cup sodium-reduced chicken bouillon granules

  • 2 Tbsp. dried onion flakes

  • 1 tsp. dried basil, crushed

  • ! tsp. whole thyme

  • 1/2 tsp. pepper

  • 3 cups is equivalent to 9 cans soup

Mix dry milk, cornstarch, bouillon, onion flakes, basil, thyme and pepper. Store in air-tight container.

To substitute for 1 can soup, combine 1/2 cup dry mix with 1 1/4 cups water. Heat to boiling and cook till it's thickened; continue to stir. Add mushroom or broccoli or potato or whatever you want for a cream soup.

One store bought can of cream soup contains about 1860mg sodium while the equivalent has 152mg. Calories 156 Fat 0.9g Cholesterol 5mg sodium 152mg Calcium 34mg
