G'day Sheri, I have used this myself and it worked a real treat.

FINE steel-wool can remove the stains. Do not use acids, such as vinegar or harsh salt, as this may scratch or harm the item. Rub bi-carb soda on with a damp cloth. Rinse off with clear water.
Cooking flour can be rubbed over stainless steel with a dry cloth to produce a good shine. Soda water also gives a brilliant shine to stainless steel sinks.
Methylated spirits on a damp cloth will remove water spots from stainless steel sinks.
