MAMA'S ITALIAN CHEESEBURGERS1/4 cup pasta sauce 1/4 cup grated or minced onion 1 clove garlic, minced 1/4 tsp. leaf basil or oregano 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. freshly ground pepper 1/2 cup (2 oz.) shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese 1/3 cup dry, seasoned bread crumbs 1 lb. lean ground beef 4 hamburger buns, split, lightly toasted (for serving) In bowl, combine pasta sauce, onion, garlic, basil, salt and pepper. Stir in cheese and crumbs. Mix in beef. Shape into four patties, each 3/4 inch thick. Grill over medium-high heat, turning once, 6 to 7 minutes on each side until no longer pink in center. Serve burgers in buns. Makes 4 servings Per serving: 307 calories, 15 g carbohydrate, 27 g protein, 15 g (6 g saturated) fat, 505 mg sodium, 69 mg cholesterol and 1 g dietary fiber each.
