All recipes use water. The first has minimal butter, and the rest use none. Use the bread quickly, since there is no oil/fat to help with the keeping qualities.
FRENCH BREAD - 1 lb loaf
1 1/2 teaspoon yeast 2 cup bread flour 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon sugar 1 teaspoon butter 1 cup warm water
Select loaf size. Add ingredients to machine according to manufacturer's directions. Select white cycle.

1 1/2 cups water 3 1/4 cups Flour 4 tsp sugar 1 1/4 tsp salt 2 tsp bread machine yeast
