TERESA'S "BUNUELOS";
Make some flour tortillas(or, purchase in Mexican food section at market); fry
the first tortilla in as much butter or oil as desired; fry both sides until
just golden brown; lay onto paper towels to absorb excess oil; move to glass(NOT
plastic) plate. Pour Mexican SWEET SAUCE* onto the fried tortilla. Turn the
tortilla over and pour some onto the other side. Continue this process until you
have 20 DELICIOSOS "bunuelos".

*SWEET SAUCE: in a small bowl, mix together 2 cups room-temp water, one large
"pilonsillo" candy (Mexican food section of market), 2 tsp. cinnamon powder, 2
laurel leaves, and 4 cloves. Keep mixing until the candy and cinnamon are
dissolved. If you like thicker sauce, use one cup of water. For thinner sauce,
use more, according to your tastes.

We are students in an adult education class that your taxes pay for. We say:
"Thank you fellow Americans for helping us learn English.". We hope you visit
our website "The Melting Pot" to get more cinco de mayo recipes, and to simply
see how your tax dollars are helping us learn. Soon, when we have enough English
to work, we will join you in paying taxes too. Gracias! Thanks! Good health!!
