SCALLOPED CABBAGE1 medium cabbage, shredded
2 cups Cheddar cheese, grated
1/4 cup pre-sifted flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup butter or margarine
2 cups milk
1/2 cup bread crumbs
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 1 1/2 quart casserole.
Put cabbage in a saucepan, sprinkle with a few tablespoons salted water. Cover, simmer over medium heat for 8 minutes. Drain well.
In a mixing bowl blend cheese, flour, salt and pepper.
Arrange layers of cabbage, cheese mixture and small dots of butter, finishing with butter. Pour milk over all. Sprinkle with crumbs.
Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes.
