Congratulations Nancy! You've received some really terrific ideas already and I have a few that I don't know if they'd fit your situation or not.

Pasta House does cater, but it is cheaper to make yourself and buy their dressing. To pick up their salad, it's about $25 for two large aluminum trays. Just ask that they don't mix it. Bread and butter is usually free with it.

Lettuce
pimento
red onion
artichokes
parm. cheese

mix dressing 15 minutes prior to serving.

Hooters or Ponderosa wings. Ponderosa's are cheaper but smaller.

Mixed fruit. Bananas, grapes, melons, stawberries.

Go to the local mom and pop diner. Ask if they have toasted ravioli and if they'd sell you a bulk of it. We have a pizza joint that sells me 100 ravioli's and sauce for $25.

Ham and deli meats, cheese, bread

Green beans with diced red pepper and onion

I helped a freind with her reception and we had really pretty table coverings and served the food in the aluminum trays from Sams. We added some candles around the table, and no one noticed the difference.

With 50 people, it sounds like these are the closest to you and I'm sure they won't mind that it's not served on China but it'll taste like it could be. Clean up is a snap!
