ISO: Cushman Bakery Marigold cupcakes

I have 2 friends who have incredibly fond memories of Cushman Bakery on the upper east side of Manhattan (from the 50's and 60's). They both rave about a confection called marigold cupcakes. I would love to find a recipe for them. They describe them as being shaped like a pyramid with the top cut off. They came in several flavors. Can anyone help?
