The last time that I had stuffed french toast it was made the following way:
Between 2 slices of thick sliced bread, homemade or otherwise, spread a fair amount of cream cheese. Light or regular kinds are fine. Then spread this with some kind of jam, we had marmalade and it was excellant. Put the 2 slices of bread together and dip into any typical french toast mixture. You may want to fry this on each side if soft eggs make you queasy but this is wonderful when nice and golden brown and really doesn't need any syrup etc. if you don't want to. Happy eating!!
