Stuffed Cabbage (Dolmas)
2 lb cabbage, leaves carefully removed
1 lb ground beef
3/4 cup cooked rice
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 egg
salt and pepper to taste
Sauce
1 cup tomato juice
3 T lemon juice
1/4 cup port
2 T vegetable
1/2 bay leaf
salt and pepper to taste
Steam cabbage leaves for 3/5 minutes. Mix stuffing ingredients. Place small amount of stuffing on each leaf and roll up. Place in baking dish. Pour sauce over the rolls. Cover dish with foil. Bake at 325 degrees for 2 hours, removing foil for the last 20 minutes.
