Hi Jim:

I'm a 'jim' too, and an 'S' too, like in jimS, neat eh?!

FilÈ powder is the ground up leaves of the Sassafras Tree, you may recognize the flavor of its roots and bark in "Root Beer" or 'Sassperilla'(sp), candy etc.

FilÈ is used as a thickener and a flavoring, especially in "Cajun/Creole" dishes or Louisiana style foods.

I can be purchased in some of the Southern Calif groceries, but if it is not available in your area it might be ordered from one of the TKL links, check with Betsy, she is really helpful and nice too! -- RARE COMBINATION!! :-)

If that doesn't work get back to me and I'll try and get an address for you from one of the packets in a local grocery.

As a matter of fact that is the only way, that comes to mind where (and with what) FilÈ Powder is used.

Welcome to TKL! If you like it now - You ain't seen nuth'n yet!
