: I lived in New York for a short time and remember making baked ziti from a recipe on the back of a pasta box. It was the best baked ziti I've ever had! Unfortunately, I cannot remember the name of the pasta, but it is not available out West where I now live. Does anybody have this recipe? I *think* the box was blue. Thank you!
I think I know the one you're talking about. I live in PA, so since we're in eastern US, it may be San Giorgio pasta. Here's the recipe:
BAKED ZITI
16 oz. cut ziti, uncooked 3 1/2 cups spaghetti sauce, divided use 2 cups ricotta cheese 2 cups shredded mozzarella 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley 1 egg, slightly beaten 1 t. oregano 1/2 t. garlic powder 1/4 t. pepper 1 T. grated Parmesean
Cook ziti according to package; drain.
Combine ziti, 1 1/2 cups sauce, ricotta cheese, mozzarella, parsley, egg, oregano, garlic powder, and pepper.
In casserole, pour 1/2 cup spaghetti sauce; spread ziti mixture evenly over sauce. Top with remaining 1 1/2 cups sauce; sprinkle with parmesean cheese.
Bake, covered, at 375 degrees F for 30 to 35 minutes.
I hope this is the one you're looking for!!
