Today at noon my wife and I got out our 3-quart slow cooker and filled it with pieces of potato, onion, carrot and celery. Added enough water to bring contents to rim of cooker.

Covered with lid and turned control to HIGH. About 5:00 this afternoon we will add some gravy mix to make a thicker broth with the vegetables.

Good with toast or rolls on a very cold day in Kansas!!
