ITALIAN SAUSAGE SOUP

Italian sausages (hot - your preference) grilled or browned then cut into chunks.

In soup pot saute:
one large onion (cut into wedges) and
one bulb of garlic (diveded into cloves, peeled and sliced)
in one tbls. of olive oil.

Add:
sausage link chunks
3 cans beef broth
1 cup red wine
28 oz can tomatoes - I use two small cans of Italian style tomatoes
oregano and basil to taste
black pepper to taste
red pepper flakes to taste
1 can of green beans

Bring to boil, add 4 oz. penne pasta.Serve in large soup bowls and sprinkle with freshly grated parmesan cheese. Very good with crusty bread and red wine.
