: A co-worker of mine used to bake a quick bread made with grape nuts, and every year at the holidays she gave everyone in the office a loaf. That was a *lot* of loaves. It was rather sweet in a brown sugary kind of way. I don't know if she used a whole grain flour, but the loaf was the color of whole-wheat bread and you couldn't really see the grape nuts.
Hello Ilene,
I haven't made this, but it looks like it might be what you're looking for.

2 c. sour milk or buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda

1. Mix Grape Nuts and milk; add soda; stir well.
2. Stir in remaining ingredients and combine thoroughly (batter will be very stiff).
3. Place in 2 well greased loaf pans.
4. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
5. When done remove from pans and brush top of loaves with melted butter.
Let us know how it turns out!
