dd, I have a recipe (somwhere) for a Summer fruit Trifle, that looks almost exactly like the one you are trying to concoct. It uses chocolate dipped biscotti crumbs instead of your brioche crumbs.
The layers are - from the bottom of a trifle bowl:
- pastry cream (the one you use for cream puffs), you could use the whipped cream, I guess...
- layer of crumbs, sprinkled with the coffe liqueur
- layer of fresh strawberries, about 1 cup

Repeat layering two more times - the top layer should be whipped cream.
Refrigerate for about 1 hour before serving.
