Desert ideas: FROSTED BROWNIES - Yield 5 dozen 1 cup plus 2 tbsp butter, softened 4 cups sugar 8 eggs 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 1/4 cups baking cocoa 1 tsp salt 2 tsp vanilla extract 2 cups chopped nuts Frosting: 1/4 cup butter, softened 2 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar 2tbsp baking cocoa 1/4 cup milk 2 tsp vanilla extract For brownies - In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs,one at time, beting well after each. Combine flour, cocoa, and salt; add to creamed mixture. Stir in vanilla and nuts. Spread batter into two greased 13x9x2 baking pans. Bake at 325 for 25-30 minutes. Cool. For frosting - In a mixing bowl, cream butter. Combine sugar and cocoa;add to butter. Add milk and vanilla. Beat until fluffy. Frost brownies. MINI APPLE PIES - this makes 10 pies each recipe so you will have to more than double but it is easy and a bit different.
Tube of refrigerated biscuits(10 biscuits in a tube) 1 tart apple, peeled,cores, and finely chopped 1/4 cup raisins 3tbsp sugar 1 tsp cinnamon 2 tbsp butter or margarine Using a rolling pin, flatten each biscuit to a 3-4 inch circle. Combine apple, raisins,sugar, and cinnamon. Place a tbsp of mixture on each biscuit. Dot with butter. Enclose filling and pinch to seal. Place in ungreased muffin cups and bake at 375 for 11-13 minutes or until golden brown. As for breads, try Irish Soda bread. It takes no rising time so preparation is easier and quicker. Good luck!
