Hi Michelle:

Hope this is what you are looking for.
(this recipe came from Michigan)

PASTIES (PAHS-tees)
INGREDIENTS:
1 lb Ground Beef (85%lean)
1 lg Onion, chopped
1 lg *Potato
1 med *Carrot
3 sm *Turnips
1/4 cup Chopped Parsley
Salt and Pepper to taste

Flakey Pastry Dough (pie dough made with ICE WATER not milk is best)

*NOTE* Peel the vegetables then cut into about 1/2 inch cubes.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat oven to 375†

In a large bowl combine: Ground beef, vegetables, parsley, salt and pepper, stir until well mixed.

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pastry dough into an 8 inch circle, about 1/8 inch thick.

Place 1 cup of the meat & vegetable mixture in a thick strip across the center of the dough round, almost to the left and right edges.

Bring the top and bottom of the dough together at the top and pinch the edges together to close.

Then pinch and fold the dough edges, until sealed.

Repeat until all ingredients are used up.

Then transfer the pasties to a lightly greased baking sheet.

Bake at 375† for about 1 hour or until golden brown.

OPTION: Brush the pasties tops with melted butter, before baking for an extra golden crust if desired.

Should make 6 pasties.

ENJOY! jimS ¶-]
