CANDIED BACON
1/4 inch thick bacon
1/4 c. sugar
1/8 c. water
pinch of mace
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 pinches of nutmeg
3 whole cloves
Cut bacon in squares and fry crisp. Drain on paper
towels. Mix together all other ingredients. Bring to a boil
and cook until it threads. Coat the bacon and let it harden.
