Brandied Strawberries

2 quarts strawberries -- washed and hulled
1 cup brandy
2 cups superfine sugar


Place ingredients in large bowl and set aside for 24 hours, stirring occasionally, to allow sugar to liquify. Spoon into clean, wide-mouth glass jars. Seal.
Allow to steep for 3 months. Strawberries will shrink and rise to top half of jar. Brandy will be at bottom. Label and decorate. Keeps one year. Makes about 5 C.
