Applesauce Cake
1 1/2 c. applesauce 1/2 c. butter or margarine 1 c. sugar 1 c. raisins 1/2 c. chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts) 1 tsp. nutmeg 1 tsp. ground cloves (I cut this down) 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. salt 2 tsp. baking soda 2 c. flour
In a saucepan, combine applesauce, butter or margarine, sugar and raisins. Heat until butter melts and allow to cool. Sift together dry ingredients and stir into applesauce mixture. Add nuts and pour into a greased tube or bundt pan. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour.
Glaze: 1/4 c. margarine 1/2 c. brown sugar 2 T. milk 1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
Bring to a boil margarine and brown sugar. Boil for 2 minutes. Add milk and bring to a rolling boil. Cool and add powdered sugar and beat until smooth. Drizzle over cake.
