MACAROON PIE
3 egg whites
1 tsp. almond flavoring
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. sugar
12 dates
1/2 c. nuts
12 soda crackers (crushed into fine
pieces)
1/4 tsp. baking powder
Beat egg whites, flavoring and salt until foamy. Gradually add sugar. Beat until stiff peaks. Combine dates, nuts, crackers and baking powder. Gently fold in egg whites. Pour into well greased pie pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.


DATE MACAROON PIE
3/4 c. Saltine crackers, rolled fine
3/4 c. chopped dates
3/4 c. chopped nuts
1 1/2 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. almond
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 c. egg whites or 3-4 egg whites
with 1-2 tsp. water
Mix dry ingredients and extract. Add stiffly beaten egg whites. Spoon into buttered pie pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Makes one 9 inch pie.


MACAROON CRUMBLE PIE
4 egg whites
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. nuts
1 c. crumbled macaroons
1/2 c. chopped dates
Beat egg whites until stiff. Beat in sugar gradually. Add vanilla. Fold in other ingredients. Spread in a buttered and floured 9 inch pan. Bake 35 minutes at 350 degrees. Cut in squares. Top with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
