My friend and I get together every other month or so, cook 30 main dishes and freeze them for quick meals.

I find that meatloaf, meatballs, and pre-marinated (by me) meats freeze the best -- for example:

I buy 10 pounds or so of ground beef when it goes on sale. I make up about 5 meatloaves and loads of meatballs. I bake them and then freeze them back. They reheat very well.

When beef or pork roast goes on sale, I buy them, cut them to fit in my crock pot, and put the seasoning ingredients into the freezer bag with the roast (for example, chopped onions, bell peppers, Worcestershire sauce, seasoning salt, etc.) then I can just pull out the roast, thaw it, dump it in the crockpot and it's ready for dinner. Easy.

When round steaks go on sale, I buy them, slice them into freezer bags, and dump in sauce ingredients such as seasonings for stroganoff, or Chinese-style, or Mexican-style (picante sauce, etc..) these also can be put in the crock pot for easy dinners.

I find that casseroles with noodles don't freeze very well and rice and potatoes tend to mush, but otherwise, any recipe you normally cook can be made, frozen and thawed.
