PEAR COCONUT CRISP 6 fresh pears 1 c. brown sugar, divided 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1 tsp. grated orange peel 1/2 c. flour, divided 1/8 tsp. salt 1/4 c. orange juice 1/4 c. butter or oleo 1 c. flaked coconut Peel, core and slice pears. Toss with 1/4 cup brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, orange peel, 2 tablespoons flour and salt. Place in shallow 2 quart baking dish. Pour orange juice over pears. Combine remaining brown sugar and flour. Cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over pears. Scatter coconut over all. Bake, uncovered, in 375 degree oven for 1 hour. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream. Makes 6 servings.
