This is a flavor of the South that goes with fish..fish camp style

SOUTHERN HUSH PUPPIES

2-cups self-rising corn meal
1/2-cup self rising flour
1/2-cup chopped onion
1-1/4 cups buttermilk
1-egg slightly beaten

Mix corn meal, flour
add chopped onion, then the milk and egg

stir real good and let rest until oil is ready

I use a electric fry pan set at 375 degrees and the oil
reaches that degree.

Dip spoon into hot oil- I use a regular teaspoon
this helps for batter to slide into the oil better

when done they will float, and are a golden brown.

Take out and lay on paper towel
