Put the water on to boil and while that's doing it's thing, saute some chopped onion and bell pepper. Throw in (to your taste) chopped or pressed garlic or if you don't like a lot of garlic, put in a whole peeled clove and remove it as soon as you begin to smell the garlic. Add in ground beef or turkey and brown well. Then add in sliced mushrooms if you like them or whatever else you may have in the fridge (like left over veggies). A little canned chicken broth or beef broth for liquid and let the sauce simmer until the pasta is done. You can also use a splash of white or red wine. Just use what you have. It's really easy to do it and a great way to use up the dabs and bits of left over veggies.

You can use the packages of frozen chopped onions, celery and bell pepper if you want, but be sure to cook the ice crystals off of them before adding other stuff. If you've got left over cooked rice, you can add that in, instead of using pasta, and then season with Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce to taste.
