When I was in college and the cafeteria dinner that night was especially gross, I'd stick broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce and mushrooms from the salad bar in the microwave for a few minutes with a bit of hot water, soy sauce, butter and sugar to taste. Everyone thought it was great. The other no-fail my husband likes is steamed broccoli with oyster sauce and sesame oil. Hope these will work for you :)
