I made this and brought it in to work, all along I've known these as "Karen's Brownies" but now they're trying to tell me it's a Texas sheetcake! Anyway you look at it it's a pretty good recipe, makes a lot and is always gobbled up fast! Great to bring to a block party, work, bake sale or when you have to bring something to the school play -- the kids snatch these up so fast that your plate is empty in no time and you can pick it up and go home right away!

KAREN'S BROWNIES

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter

cream butter and sugar. Add 4 eggs, 1 can of Hershey's chocolate syrup (16 oz). Add 1 cup + 1T flour. Mix, add nuts if you like.

Spread in a prepared jelly roll pan. Bake at 350* for 22 minutes.

Topping:

1 1/2 cup sugar
6T milk or heavy cream
6T butter

Cook in small pan. Boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Turn off heat. Add 6oz of chocolate chips, beat until smooth. Pour over brownies and spread evenly.
Let cook and cut in to squares.
