chicken caccitore 1 large onion,chopped 1 large green bellpepper, chopped 1 large pkg. of mushrooms,sliced 1/4 tsp. garlic powder 1 and a half tbsp. of basil leaves,same amount for parsley 1 tbsp/ oregano 2 cloves garlic, minced 1-12oz. can tomato paste 1-8oz.tomato sauce 1 very large can tomatoes,crushed 1 tsp.salt,about 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 tsp. baking soda 2 tbsp. sugar(brown sugar) 1 cup dry red wine 10 pieces chicken what ever kind of pasta you want to serve Layer chicken in a large baking pan.Brush with margarine.Season with salt and pepper & any other seasoning you may want to use. Bake 0ne hour at 350degrees. In a large pot add a lttle olive oil& brown the onion,peppers and garlic,until wilted.add seasonings, paste,sauce & Tomatoes. Add bak- ing soda and wine. Let cook all day or just and hour. Add mushrooms when sauce is half done. Pour sauce over chicken and let bake 45 minutes.
