You are absolutely right. Where does the rest of the sugar come from. All I can say friends is that I did a cut-and-paste of this recipe from the following URL:http://www2.netdoor.com/~billover/desserts.htm#bberry

I did a search for a simple recipe that might work well with the kids. BLECH! My intentions were so well-founded.

I did alter the order of the assembly instructions of the original recipe because I thought they were confusing. I did not, however, alter the ingredients. Hummmm?

Can we guess 1/2 of the sugar for each step? Maybe it depends on the sweetness of the blackberries. I am not sure you could *wreck* this recipe. That is one of the reasons I copied it.

Or, hopefully someone has fresh blackberries and is willing to try. :-)
