Angel, what is..........

HI Angel, this sounds wonderful! I have a question - what is golden syrup? Is it like pancake syrup or corn syrup or could I use honey?? Somebody else asked what a slice is and I am guessing it is what we know as coffee cake. Either way, this sounds absolutely delicious!
