She makes sure that if she bakes cookies ahead of time, she puts them in a very tight sealing container (Tupperware, Rubbermaid or something like that). If she is giving them in boxes as gifts close to Christmas, she puts them in boxes (kinda like shirt boxes that have wax paper in them), and she tapes them up with really good tape (like paper tape), and puts them in the freezer. I'm not sure about the taste if they stay in the freezer for a long period of time, but she took some cookies out of the freezer when we were there last time, that she had made about a week and a half to two weeks earlier, and they tasted just fine. I don't see what it would hurt. If you are still kinda worried about leaving them in there for a week, try making them about the middle of next week, and freezing them. That way you are sure that they won't taste different. Hope this helps.
