Chocolate Caramel Popcorn

I found this and made it today, it is pretty good and crisp.

8 cup popped popcorn
3/4 packed brown sugar
1/3 butter or margarine
3 tablespoons light corn syrup
2 tablespoons milk
1/4 soda
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup chocolate chips

Placed popped popcorn in greased 13x9 pan.

In heavy saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, milk, butter, cook and stir over medium heat until butter is melted and mixture is boiling. Cook without stirring for 5 minutes more. Remove from heat stir in chocolate chips, stir till melted, stir in soda and vanilla.

Pour chocolate mixture over the popcorn, stir to coat evenly. Bake, uncovered in 300* oven for 15 minutes, stir once. Bake 10-15 minutes more or till mixture is crisp. Cool to room temperature. Store in air tight container.

Nuts may be added to popcorn before adding chocolate mixture.
