An old-time favorite!!!! There are many versions of this recipe. As the cake bakes, the cherries, cake mix and butter will mix and the finished product will be a cake filled with cherries (and topped with coconut and pecans if you use the first recipe. You will probably want to double or triple for your 20+ people. Yummm!

Dump Cake
Ingredients:
2 cans lite cherry pie filling 1 small can crushed pineapple (in its own juice -- use juice) 1 box white or yellow cake mix (not the kind with pudding) 1 cup butter 1 cup flaked coconut 1 cup chopped pecans
Dump everything in a 9 x 13" pan in the order written. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Top with whipped cream or non dairy topping. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Dump Cake
Ingredients:
1 cn Pie filling, cherry 1 cn Cherries, pitted w/juice 1 pk Cake mix, chocolate 1/2 c Butter or margarine
Mix cherry pie filling and pitted cherries; put in a 9 x 13" pan. On top of cherries, sprinkle dry cake mix. Cut butter/margarine into small chunks and put on top of dry cake mix. Do not mix. Bake at 350 for 50 to 60 minutes. Use cool whip for frosting. |
