Betsy ---

I have another favorite cookie recipe that that is many decades old and I would love to be able to make it, but I'm not quite sure how to do the frosting in a way
that conforms to current safety standards!! It's S-O-O good too!

1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 cup shortening
2 eggs (save out 1 yolk)
1 cup sour milk
1 tsp soda
3 cups flour
2 tsps baking powder
juice and rind of 1 orange

Combine sugar and shortening and add milk and egg and egg white. Stir in orange juice and grated rind. Combine dry ingredients and add to wet ingredients. Dough will be stiff. Refrigerate until dough is chilled. Drop cookies
and bake at 375F until done but not brown.

Icing

Yolk of one egg (Hence, the problem)
orange and lemon juice
powdered sugar
