I just tried a recipe in the July '98 issue of Southern Living magazine. It is so good and just too easy!
Cherry Fudge Cake
1 (18.25 oz.) package devil's food cake mix with pudding 1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling 2 large eggs 1 tsp. almond or vanilla extract
1 cup sugar 1/3 cup butter 1/3 cup milk 1 cup semisweet chocolate morsels
Combine first 4 ingredients in a bowl until blended. Pour into a greased and floured 9x13 pan. Bake at 350o 25-30 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on a wire rack. Combine sugar, butter, and milk in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly; reduce heat, and simmer, stirring constantly, 1 minute. Remove from heat; stir in chocolate chips until melted. Pour over cake and let stand until set.
