Here's a pizza dough recipe that I got back in high school home ec. In the the 15+ years I've been making it I've never had a failure.

1/2 cup warm water (I usually use hot tap water)
1/2 tsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp active dry yeast
1 tbsp oil (I omit)
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup flour
1/2 cup flour

Mix sugar and water and sprinkle with yeast. Let stand for 10 minutes. Stir mixture well and add oil. Mix in salt and 3/4 cup flour until smooth. Mix in 1/2 cup flour and mix well. It may be necessary to knead to mix in all the flour. Turn dough out on a floured board and knead until smooth and elastic (15 - 20 times). Top as desired and bake at 350 F until cheese is bubbly. Makes 1 thick 8" crust or thin 10" crust.

When I make pizza, I usually triple the water/yeast and not quite triple the flour. It makes 2 - 12" pizzas and 1 - 8".

Good luck.
