MONK'S BREAD
1 stick butter
1 c. milk
2 eggs
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
3 c. flour
1/4 c. warm water
1 pkg. yeast
1 extra stick of butter for
Bundt pan
In saucepan, add 1 cup milk and 1 stick of butter.
Scald; set aside. Add yeast to warm water and stir until
dissolved. In large bowl, add eggs, sugar and salt. Beat
lightly with fork. Add 1 1/2 cups flour and yeast mixture,
butter and milk mixture. Let rise, uncovered, 1 hour. Stir in
rest of flour. Cover with damp cloth. Store in icebox 3
hours. Before serving, take out of icebox; leave covered.
After 2 hours, melt 1 stick of butter in Bundt pan. Pour in
dough. Let set 30 minutes longer. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min-
utes.
