Liz, I have used this time and time again, and it never fails to disappoint! I got it from a Campbell's Soup recipe. I like to take the skin off the chicken, and the recipe still works just fine.
Tangy Oven Barbecued Chicken Prep Time: 10 Min. Cook Time: 1 hour
2 pounds chicken parts 1 can (10 3/4 ounces) Campbell's® Condensed Tomato Soup 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar 3 tablespoons vinegar 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 4 cups hot cooked rice
Directions
1. Place chicken in 2-quart shallow baking dish and bake at 375ºF. for 30 minutes. 2. Mix soup, sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire, hot sauce and garlic powder. Spoon over chicken and bake 30 minutes more or until chicken is no longer pink. Remove chicken. Stir sauce. Serve with rice. Serves 4.
*Note: If you want more of a smokey BBQ flavor, I like to add 1 T. liquid smoke to the sauce. Spicy? 1 t. to 1 T. crushed chile flakes OR 2 t. of your favorite hot pepper sauce
