Here's a couple. I have never tried any of them.
GERMAN CHOCOLATE UPSIDE-DOWN CAKE
1/2 c. brown sugar 1/3 c. butter or margarine pecan halves 1/2 c. flaked coconut 2 Tbsp. milk single layer chocolate cake mix (ingredients as cake pkg. directs)
Set microwave power select at High. In small glass bowl, heat sugar and butter until melted; stir until smooth. Spread mixture into a 9-inch round baking dish (bottom lined with wax paper); arrange pecans on top. Sprinkle with coconut and drizzle with milk. Prepare cake mix according to directions; pour over coconut. Heat at Medium 6 1/2 to 8 minutes. Let stand, covered, for 10 minutes. Invert on serving platter; carefully peel off wax paper. Store covered until cool. --------------------------------------------------
GERMAN CHOCOLATE UPSIDE-DOWN CAKE
1 box German chocolate cake mix 1 c. chopped nuts 1 box powdered sugar 8 oz. cream cheese 1 stick margarine
Grease and flour a 9 x 13-inch cake pan. Sprinkle nuts on bottom of pan. Mix cake mix as directed on box and pour over nuts. Mix margarine and cream cheese; then add powdered sugar. Spread over cake mix and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. --------------------------------------------------
GERMAN CHOCOLATE UPSIDE DOWN CAKE
1 box German chocolate cake mix 2 sticks oleo ( margarine) 1 box powdered sugar 1 (8 oz.) pkg. Philadelphia cream cheese 3/4 c. coconut, flaked 3/4 c. nuts, chopped
Oil or grease a 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Sprinkle coconut and nuts in pan. Mix cake mix according to directions on box. Pour over coconut and nuts. Melt 2 sticks oleo and mix with cream cheese and powdered sugar. Beat until creamy and pour over cake mix. Bake 10 minutes in preheated oven at 375 degrees. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and continue to bake another 35 to 40 minutes.
