Hi KP! I don't know if this is what your looking for but I found this recipe awhile back on a site and copied it because my girlfriend and I get together for little tea parties all the time and we are always looking for something new to try...This recipe looked so unusual to me it peaked my interest...however I have not tried them yet...It is however a sweet tea biscuit flavored with orange... Take care and good luck finding your recipe!!
Sugar Cube Orange Biscuits The Florida Cookbook - Jeanne Voltz/Caroline Stuart
2 cups sifted self-rising flour grated rind of 1 orange 1/4 cup shortening 1/2 cup milk -- or more 18 to 20 sugar cubes (1/2 teaspoon each) 1/4 cup orange juice Measure the flour into a mixing bowl. Add the orange rind. With a pastry blender or fork and knife, cut the shortening into the flour until the texture resembles coarse meal. Add enough milk to form a soft dough. Turn out onto a floured surface and lightly knead until smooth. Pat or roll the dough to a thickness of 1/2 inch. Cut with a lightly floured 2-inch biscuit cutter and place rounds on an ungreased baking sheet. Dip the sugar cubes thoroughly in the orange juice and press a cube into the top of each biscuit. Bake in a preheated 425-degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes, until brown. Serve hot. Author's note: These simple biscuits can be made in a hurry and the sweet orange taste makes them unusually good for luncheons, or with tea or coffee in the afternoon.
