Sometimes I simply dredge them in seasoned flour, brown them slightly in oil, and place them in a crock pot with a bit of red wine & cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 'til done.
Or you can put them in a crock pot with out browning and pour over some cream of mushroom soup mixed with a little curry powder.
I've even poured salsa from a jar over them and slow-cooked them -- lamb shanks are one of my husband's favorite meals, and fortunately for us they go on sale frequently where we live! |
