Since I have not received any recipes for the pizza bagels that were sold at the West Side Market here in Cleveland, I have tried making some myself, and came up with these that are pretty close. I used the pizza dough recipe that's in the book to my bread machine. After the dough was finished, I took pieces of the dough and formed them into ropes, about 6-inches long; formed them into rings, and placed them on a large greased baking sheet. I covered them with plastic wrap that was sprayed with cooking spray, and let them raise for about 35 minutes; then I put a thick pizza sauce on each one, and sprinkled shredded mozzarella cheese on them. I baked them for about 15 minutes at 425 degrees.
My husband says they were delicious and as good as the ones we use to pay a fortune for. The real test comes when the kids are here to try them.
