you didn't ask ME first!! Here is a good one I got from a man in Provincetown a
long time ago. I haven't made it for a long time, but it is very good.
RHUBARB BREAD (makes 2 loaves)

1 1/2 cups brown sugar
2/3 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup sour milk
2 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups diced raw rhubarb
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Topping: 1/2 cup sugar 1 Tblsp. butter rubbed together

Beat together brown sugar, oil and egg. Mix soda, salt, vanilla and sour milk.
Add to the first mixture. Add the flour, then the rhubarb and nuts and blend
with a spoon. Pour batter into two greased loaf pans, medium size. (Note: I
always grease and lightly flour my pans) Sprinkle tops with topping mixture.
Bake at 325 degrees for one hour. Bread slices best on the next day.

Bon Appetit and see you here on the Cape in three weeks or so...ok???
