when i was staying in the us, a dear farmer friend of mine cooked her ham in the crockpot all the time. All she did was wrap the chunk of ham in foil and placed it in the crockpot and cooked it on low overnight. and the next day the ham will be soft and very tasty for sandwiches and other purpose. she didn't add anything at all. these sandwiches were one of the fav. in our church.
