Grand Marnier Sauce for Fruit

4 egg yolks
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3/4 cup Grand Marnier or other orange-flavored liqueur,
divided
2 cups whipping cream, whipped

Place egg yolks in top of a double boiler; bring water
to a boil. Reduce heat to low; cook, beating at medium
speed of an electric mixer, until thick and lemon
colored. Gradually add sugar, beating well. Stir in
lemon juice and salt.

Combine four and 2 tablespoons Grand Marnier; stir
until smooth. Add flour mixture to egg mixture,
stirring well with a wire whisk. Add remaining 1/2
cup plus 2 tablespoons Grand Marnier; cook over low
heat until mixture is thickened, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat, and let cool completely. Gently
fold in whipped cream. Cover and chill thoroughly.
Serve sauce over fresh fruit, poundcake, etc.

Linda, this is a delicious sauce. Hope you enjoy it!
