I didn't happen to see this show, Pat; nor do I have the recipe you're looking for. However, it sounds very much like variations on such cakes/desserts that many Scandavians make (Sweden - Norway, etc.) - if no one here has it, you might check some of their ethnic recipes and maybe you could 'adapt' to what you saw. I have eaten similar things but never (back then) thought to ask for the recipe.
